  Bill Bernstein is actively a portrait photographer for editorial, healthcare, advertising, music, and fine art based in New York City. He is an internationally celebrated, award winning portrait and documentary photographer. His career began at a newspaper, the Village Voice in the 1970s. Since then his methodology was one of researching and representing contemporary subcultures through his photography. Bernstein felt compelled by Anthropology and he wanted to document humans being humans within his work. He is most known for his photography of the notorious 1970's night scene; specifically late 1970’s when clubs such as Studio 54 and Paradise Garage were at their peak. He is known as well for his time spent with Paul McCartney as his personal photographer; this began in the late 80’s and he continued working with him through his tour in 2005, traveling the world with Paul Mcartney’s team. Megan Watts is one of the Permit Clerks at Environmental Health. This is where small businesses in Corvallis go to receive different permits for their business. She has worked there for 7 years in total. Megan began her career here during her time earning her Associates of Applied Science degree at LBCC. She had a four month internship there, she ended up making the perfect connections to be the person they called when they needed a new employee. October 20 in Corvallis Oregon. Megan is a great example of a Linn Benton Community College success story.  Emma Butler is an employee at Grandpas Fresh Market. She has worked there nearly every summer since 2019. Emma really enjoys all the different varieties of produce sold at Grandpas, she loves learning about them. Today they received new holiday decoration; I was inspired by Emma's green pants to use the Christmas décor as props. October 20, Albany Oregon.

This week my goal was to focus my attention around town. We have a wide variety of different styles of graffiti art. I've always noticed graffiti most prominently on trains passing by.  Graffiti assumed to be inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa - October 10 A seemingly infinite stationary train, the orange hue of the box car compliments the bright blue within the sky in the back. Albany OR Graffiti reading, "eat more mushrooms" The decriminalization of mushrooms in Oregon has been impactful for some residents and they've chosen to express their joy through art-  October 17 This is the same stationary train from multiple different perspectives. The trains are located on the tracks just off Lochner Rd SE, through Marion St SE in Albany, Oregon.

  October 8-   A small vending stand on the corner between Santiam Highway SE and OR-226. I didn't stop to pull in but the energy from the stand was very positive. The decorations accompany nicely to the autumn feel of the environment.  October 9-  A barista finishing a drink within a Safeway Starbucks. This was nearing the end of their work day. The customers traffic was slowing down. This is Quincey Chadwick, a senior at South Albany High School. She is enjoying working at Starbucks, she can express her enjoyment for art within the drinks she gives people. October 8- This is Grandpas Fresh Market, a farm stand that changes with the seasons. It's currently autumn, therefor they have a great stock of pumpkins, apples, tomato's, and an assortment of different peppers. Not even to mention their honeys and preserves.  Each of these three photographs were taken in Albany, Oregon.

       Hello, my name is Addy and this is a blog for my photojournalism class at Linn Benton. This is my first year as a student at Linn Benton; I have an undecided major at the moment, I hold small bits of passion for multiple things. Nothing in particular is holding onto my heart, or inspiring me to pursue forever. Therefor I'm taking the future slow, not only living but enjoying everyday thoroughly. To be completely honest and straight forward, I took this class because I could get in, but I've always been interested in photography. The idea that there is beauty within every aspect of our lives on this earth has brought a new light of hope to my living.     Three goals I have for this journalism class specifically are, first, to become more comfortable taking photos of people, and learn how to help the person being photographed feel comfortable as well.
