Week Four - On The Job

Megan Watts is one of the Permit Clerks at Environmental Health. This is where small businesses in Corvallis go to receive different permits for their business. She has worked there for 7 years in total. Megan began her career here during her time earning her Associates of Applied Science degree at LBCC. She had a four month internship there, she ended up making the perfect connections to be the person they called when they needed a new employee. October 20 in Corvallis Oregon. Megan is a great example of a Linn Benton Community College success story. 


Emma Butler is an employee at Grandpas Fresh Market. She has worked there nearly every summer since 2019. Emma really enjoys all the different varieties of produce sold at Grandpas, she loves learning about them. Today they received new holiday decoration; I was inspired by Emma's green pants to use the Christmas décor as props. October 20, Albany Oregon.

Holidays Away from Home

On November 23 I drove to the home of my friend. It was decided when my family chose to host the Thanksgiving of my extended family in our house. These people don't like me for no reason other then my existence. I couldn't spend another holiday surrounded by hate. This was the first year I was able to make the choice for myself to try to find peace and love on this day. This is a road leading away from my their house in Lorane Oregon; we headed to Cottage Grove early on the morning of the 24th; for our first "dinner" that was planned to begin at noon. It was a bit perplexing that someone had two families that wanted them around for the day. The trees line the winding road hinting to the journey that is about to begin.  On the road my friend lives on there stands an older looking building known as Lorane Rebekah Lodge. Week Five: Environmental - Sergeant Major Watts

     This is Christian Watts; also referred to as Sergeant Major Watts by his colleagues. He joined the Oregon National Guard in March of 1993 and has been serving for 29 years since. His career focus has always been supplies and logistics.       He says that the thing he enjoys most about his career is taking care of the soldiers and making sure they have all the equipment they need to be successful. Bill Bernstein

  Bill Bernstein is actively a portrait photographer for editorial, healthcare, advertising, music, and fine art based in New York City. He is an internationally celebrated, award winning portrait and documentary photographer. His career began at a newspaper, the Village Voice in the 1970s. Since then his methodology was one of researching and representing contemporary subcultures through his photography. Bernstein felt compelled by Anthropology and he wanted to document humans being humans within his work. He is most known for his photography of the notorious 1970's night scene; specifically late 1970’s when clubs such as Studio 54 and Paradise Garage were at their peak. He is known as well for his time spent with Paul McCartney as his personal photographer; this began in the late 80’s and he continued working with him through his tour in 2005, traveling the world with Paul Mcartney’s team.
